"Insurance poor"

Have you ever heard the saying "Insurance poor"? Well thats me, I have insurance for everything even renters insurance. I live in an apartment and this insurance covers my belongings in the apartment, right down to the lost sock in the drawer.
Car insurance, life insurance, medical insurance, dental insurance, hospital insurance, If it can be insured then I must have it insured. So with all the money paid out for insurance I'm called "insurance poor" because that's where my money goes. My car insurance is the highest $198 per month. Medical insurance is $188 per month, Dental insurance is least at $14 per month.

I think most of responsible America would consider themselves ''insurance poor''. Until a loss occurs and they are paid 10-100 times the premiums they have paid to cover the loss. Remember insurance is one of the few things we purchase, in anticipation of disaster or loss. You are not alone friend, I'm also insurance poor, but would much rather have the coverages and not need them instead of needing the protection and not having it. Try and think of it that way and it may make, 'the pill easier to swallow'......

I dont even want to sit down and calculate ho much I am paying for all these insurances. It is probably half of my paycheck. But what can you do? You cant drive legally without insirance, you cant get medication... Its just something that you have to pay for. To me its money in the garbage.

You need insurance, and it looks like you're well covered. Note that a lot of people have too much coverage or are paying high premiums for various reasons. If you think you're paying too much to be insurance poor , take some time to shop around or ask an independant insurance agent for advice.

I don't have insurance. I make minimum wage. I'm not irresponsible. I just too poor to even have the cheapest insurance you have. LOL At least you are just insurance poor and not actually poor.

I'm an agent in Oregon, and it is true many Americans are insurance poor, take me for instance... I see the damage no insurance can do to an individuals finances. But insurance has it's purpose, you might be surprised at what your insurance actually covers. The insurance product that I feel is most important to have is life insurance, If you get it young then you can feel comfortable knowing that while you are building your wealth you have a solid 10/20/30 year term policy for 250,000 for pennies on the dollar.

Funny, you mention all these types of insurance you mention having, but I didn't see life and disability.

insurance is used to protect against a loss, that's the problem with health insurance, everyone uses it, so the price keeps going up, making us... you guessed it, insurance poor!
