This question is more on the legality level of driving while uninsured. I am wondering if it is more dangerous to drive the vehicle that I own without having insurance, as opposed to driving a family member's vehicle without being included in their insurance policy, or is it more or less equally dangerous?

I sure hope this is a hypothetical question that you are posing, maybe for a term paper or something...

Driving an insured vehicle (even if you are not a listed driver) would be the least 'dangerous' because there is a good chance (actually very likely unless you are excluded) that there would be coverage afforded to you (as a permissive driver) should you have an accident. Driving a vehicle that you KNOW is uninsured (yours) there is NO chance for any coverage/protection.

Gotta ask, Why do you want to know this? Are you seriously weighing these options? Confused

First of all, thanks for posting here.
As I read your comments and question, I understand that you are asking which case is more "illegal", not dangerous, is that right?
First of all, driving without at least liability insurance can be illegal and subject to different penalties, according to state law. Evidently your car is not financed, otherwise your loan company would require auto insurance.
If we are on the road and putting ourselves and every other driver around us in a position where we could cause property damage, serious injury, or even death, it is only financially responsible to carry auto insurance.
Secondly, driving a family member's auto on a very occasional basis might be allowed under the family member's auto policy. If you live in the same house as your family member, a lot of insurance companies will require that you either be included as a named driver in the auto policy or excluded as a driver.
Please, if you are going to drive check into liability insurance coverage.

Is it better to get shot in the head or the chest?

Driving a vehicle with no insurance is going to result in... no insurance. If you drove a vehicle with insuranec but you were not listed at least there is a _chance_ that coverage might be extended. However, the policy could be recinded (insurance voided as never in force) and then the owner is hung out to dry with no insurance as well.

As I mention in my first question... better not to get shot all together as I'd rather not have to make the choice to begin with.
