Thinking about switching

by knig188 » Mon Nov 19, 2007 02:43 am

I am seriously thinking about converting my agency from a captive agency to an independent agency. I just wanted to hear from some people who may have made a similar move. Or even if you are an independent agent, I would like to hear some pros and cons about running an independent agency. I have about 12 more months left in my contract with the captive agency.

Hi Knig188,

Working with independent agents would give you an edge since your company would get access to those databases as has been achieved my the real good performers. Yeah, you have to make prompt payments to these agents once they achieve your desired figures. BarcleyHolder89

Yupp...product training is another core issue....captive agents have always been thorough with the knowledge of your products...but you don't always expect that from independent agents. So better keep an eye at training them in order to ensure a healthy growth for your company.
