I am going to have a blood and urine test for insurance purposes. I smoke marijuana often. Will the tests results show that information?

Yes, I believe the results will disclose that information. Even when one of my friends got his latent tuberculosis test results...it was disclosed after all that he was too much into smoking!
Hope you got the message..

Hi,
my friend that truly an interesting question....

Will the tests results show that information?

In my opinion, even if its not disclosed as to what it is that you smoke....but the symptoms would should up your link to something of serious concern.
Please understand, that its high time that we quit all of these habits.
Thanks,

Don't get too much scared!

This is just a routine test before the underwriters approve your application. But yes, these medical tests if proved +ve may increase your initial premiums by a few bucks. But do keep in touch, Lolasuncle

They will likely test for any drugs, you don't say what type of insurance, health or life? I'm not sure what if any effect it might have on your premium.....hope some seasoned agents will come by with some imput....could be I suppose that they could even reject you.....based on this....hope it's not for a job!

Any life or health insurance company that I have ever worked with will flat decline your application if any medical testing shows the use of illegal drugs.

I agree with Insurance Maze. If I was underwriting your case - or sitting on a hiring committee, I'm afraid I would not look favorably on your case.

Please understand though that it's not just because you choose to "burn one" every now and then. It is because you knowingly and willingly break the law on what may be a regular basis and therefore, we would have a trust issue. I certainly would not insure you or hire you if I couldn't trust you.

I wish I had better news.

My first question to you would be, how old are you? Do you think about quitting smoking marijuana. It will affect so much in your life beside insurance, not many employers tolerate this behavior either.

reallllllllllly? this sounds so stupid but I had no idea, that they would reject a pot smoker!

You want to hear something that you absolutely WON'T believe? The third largest auto insurer in this country (starts with a ''P'')...have absolutely NO DRUG testing for their employee and have NEVER, and say they will NEVER ...why you ask? after all claims reps have a billion dollar check book right? well it's because the former CEO Peter B. Lewis (i think that's right)...is like the oldest pot head in the world and contributes tons of money himself to the legalization of pot! Check it out...google do what you will "I's tellin' the truth!!""

(haven't even seen a joint myself since about 1976, so not a problem here, just in case any of ya' were wonderin' )

There's at least one company that allows you to get away with it if you only use it in a "responsible" way:
