Lein holder issue

(I received the following two questions in my in box from "Anthony" however he isn't registered so I cannot respond to him privately)

Hey lori, i got a question that could relate about a question you already answred but could you help me out PLEASE!! I got into a wreck and it was another person fault ... (LONG STORY SHORT)A buy here pay here, I have a lienholder and owe about $5,800, the insurance cut the check($4,000) and already talked to my lien holder ... i had GAP PROTECTION and had the car for 1 year ... left with $1,800 and thus being that the so called GAP PRO PLAN ONLY COVED THE LEFT OVER ... Forgive me but Getting screwed and left without a money or a car ... now a have "PAIN AND SUFFERING" amount of money but im trien to get VERY VERY VERY EVEN with my lienholder ... now on a question that i read early ... Is the car mine after i talk and sign papers with the lienholder???? And could the car be mine??? Is there any other way of besides my pain and suffering money to deal with the lienholder ... A lawyer or somthing ?? and What is paid off ?? What does that cover with a lienholder ... PLEASE ME HELP, PLEASE!!

Anthony, I'm not clear in your question...Your car is now paid off free and clear correct? But did the insurance not keep the car? Or did you owner retain it? Doubt that your GAP coverage would have paid if you owner retained...so if that is the case then the insurance company now owns the car and will sell it as salvage...If for some reason you still have it, and it's paid off then you should have in your possession a cleared title, meaning no lein holder attached....Not sure what you want to get even with the car dealer about...you bought the car right? over paid, and probably had very high interest...so I'm not sure what you want to do there...Please explain that better for us.

my friend has a ford ranger with her name on the title and her dad and stepmom have a lein on it ,can they sell it even though she helped bay for it?[font=Impact][/font][size=12][/size][img=right][/img]

Heck yes they can (and IMO SHOULD) if she's defaulted on her payment agreement.
