Insure the Driver not the vehicle

Many years ago when I was a small business owner I had a policy that insured my drivers not the trucks.
I am now retired and have several trucks that I use from time to time around the place. I find myself changing the policy's around to various trucks depending on what I want to do this week, its a pain in my butt and has to be for the insurance company.
Its not feasible (too dam expensive) to keep 6 vehicles insured when I can only drive one at a time. Any thoughts

That is complicated...I'm an adjuster not an agent, perhaps an agent with a better idea will pop in on this thread...(i hope )....what about talking with your agent...see if there is some type of policy that will insure the fleet but only for one truck on the road at a time...or as you said you used to only insure the drivers not the trucks (? that doesn't sound right to me...what if the truck was damaged :? )...any rate if you were comfortable with that in the past can you not do that again? making you or whomever is driving them the driver?

Hmm, well I'm a broker, but from Canada and auto is what I handle least ... so I'm not the guy you need to answer this! However ...

I agree with Lori, I am not familiar with a policy just insuring the drivers and not the vehicles.

And it would be a pain to constantly change vehicles insured - for you and for the vehicle insurance company.

If you want to keep premiums down this is probably what you have to continue doing.
