You cannot legally drive.

You would need to gt an Insurance policy, in your name, if you want to continue to drive.........OR..............don't drive at all. There are very 'steep' penalities for driving without insurance. If you are caught driving without insurance, you COULD lose your DL, pay a fine, etc. I don't think it would be worth it.

Pick up the phone, and call an agent or two and get some quotes, get on line, find and pay for a policy whatever you do --- DON'T drive an inch until you get that vehicle insured!

LORI..............that's SO true!! "Don't drive an inch." My EX and I din't have a car for 3 years. When we DID get one, the Insurance was under my EX's father's name. He cancelled the insurance. ..we couldn't afford to put insurance on the car, at that time. We walked EVERYWHERE!! I'd rather do that, then get caught without it!! Walking was a 'PITA' ( Pain in the A**!).

It reall isn't safe to drive with out insurance..for you or the pther person...I would call around or surf the net to see what kinds of rates you could get. What kind of car are you driving? I know a lot goesw into consideration when looking at rates from insurance carriers.

Yup... people think they will never cause an accident while they don't have insurance. I'm sorry but the type of person who would drive without insurance is probably the type of person to cause an accident.

Another reason to get insurance... one of the claims I'm handling involves an uninsured person. I'm setting him up on payments (he's a nice guy). He does not think his motorcycle cause damage to the truck he hit (good point). I have photos to show that it was damages. He really does not have a leg to stand on as he can't afford to dispute the damage. If he does not offer to pay the amount in full, a collection agency will probably take him to court. If that happens, his only chance of winning anything is by paying for an attorney. So another important part of insurance is the defense they offer.
