| DUE TO THE ECONOMIC SITUATIONS NOW, MY SON AND DAUGHER IN LAW DECIDED TO REMOVE HIM FROM HER COVERAGE PLAN. TO HAVE HER COVERED IS $24 A MONTH. TO ADD MY SON WAS $600 MONTH. THEY WERE TOLD BY AETNA THAT SHE CANNOT TAKE HIM OFF UNLESS HE HAS ANOTHER INSURANCE COVERAGE. ANY ANSWERS OR SUGGESTIONS REGARDING CANCELLING HEALTH INSURANCE? |

| Yes, talk to someone at Aetna who knows what they are talking about and/or ask Aetna is they are paying the expense to keep the child on the policy. As the policy holder is the one paying, they can change the people listed on the policy as they see fit. Last time I checked, health insurance was not mandatory in any state. |

Well this is nothing short of non-sense...there may be only certain times of the year when she can add him, but cancelling health insurance can be done anytime....and what on earth would they care if he was insured or not? that's just silly...who EXACTLY told her this?

| I appreciate the reply. However it isn't their child, it is her husband (my son) who they want to remove. He will be getting his own health insurance through his own company in a couple months. $600 is alot of money and they wish to keep it rather than have him insured at this time. That's why I wanted to inquire about the possibility of canceling health insurance in these conditions. |

yes it is and they are adults and can chose to roll that dice...there is no reason in the world for aenta to say this...again, who at aenta said this?
