| iv got a 2008 chevy silverodo 4x4,crew cab, and the kbb value is 18,400 and the damages are over 13,000. and one insurance place wants to fix it and the other wants to total it and im confused |

| Me too, You have two different insurance policies on your truck? Please explain. The insurance co will want to total the vehicle if the damage is a certain amount of the value of the vehicle (80% I believe). The insurance co also uses a different source to value vehicles so the KBB value may not be what the insurance co is using. |

Shelly, it depends on your vehicles ACV (actual cash value) although no carrier uses KBB, if the value is around 18k and the repair is 13k, then yes, it's likely a total loss, I'd guess the salvage value on an 08 silverado would be 5k atleast...
Which carrier (yours of the other guys) wants to total and which does not? The company that thinks it repairable, have they written a full/complete estimate on it yet?
