Can I change incorrect accident history?

I am trying to get auto insurance, but the companies are dinging my husband for an accident my 20 year old had in my car(they said his name was on report). They are also listing an accident that one of my twin boys had on his brother. What can I do?

Have you had a chance to see the accident report? i would ask about it and tell them you would like to see it.......that's your right.

In reference to the accident your son had...did your vehicle insurance company have to pay the claim? One of the things insurance companies look for when quoting a policy is prior accidents (as you have found). They are not just interested in who it was that wrecked the vehicle, but rather did your past insurance company have to pay.

I receive inaccurate quotes due to the fact that my ex-wife wrecked our family vehicle before we were divorced. Although it does not show on my driving record (I wasn't even in the vehicle), it does show that my insurance policy paid the claim.

If you are filling out an online quote, you typically will get wrong information if you have such circumstances. Speak with an agent directly, so that you can explain your situation. You will get a whole lot further!

Well, we'd first need to know what's correct and what's incorrect.
I guess all the insurance professionals would agree that the claims history tells it all. Were both the offenders listed on your policy? Did your carrier had to actually pay for two claims?

Cole, you need to contact ChoicePoint and inform them about the wrong entry. Since all your future rate would depend upon the accuracy of CLUE report you should take immediate steps to correct it.

Contact ChoicePoint and report the error. They would then contact the insurer and seek the actual information. The insurer normally would get 30 days to validate the entry, if they fail to do so ChoicePoint would then remove the particular record from your CLUE.
