I'm a Florida resident. My cars are registered and insured in my name. My fiance and I are in the process of moving to new York so he is there with one car and I am in Florida. Someone crashed there motorcycle near my car in new York and landed near it. My fiance made the police report along with other witnesses. Now the motorcyclist is trying to make a claim saying my fiance pulled out in front of him and caused the accident. I do not have full coverage, I don't know what to expect... hoping someone can give me some info.

My vehicle was parked at the time of the accident.

If your vehicle was parked and there are witnesses that will confirm that, there should be no problem. You'll need to file a claim with the carrier that insures the motorcycle, they will investigate it. Assuming the witnesses support your fiance's version of the accident, they should handle all of your vehicle damage.

The OTHER Insurance Company should pay for the entire cost, of damages, for your vehicle...providing it was the other person's fault. You Insurance shouldn't have to do anything. As people said above, have the witnesses write statments to what they saw. I think you should be ok with everything.

Hi Babs..

My fiance made the police report along with other witnesses.

Does the police report show the other party as the party at-fault?

I do not have full coverage, I don't know what to expect.

I don't understand the reason of your anxiousness..did your fiance express doubts regarding the possibility of his pulling out before the other party?

Steven
