Some carriers (and states) offer 'sleeping' or 'snoozing' (many other nicknames) coverage for items/vehicles only used a short period. For example a motorcycle, travel trailer, boat etc., will only carry comprehensive for say six months a year, (when not on the road AT ALL), and the other coverage the rest of the year. How these typcially work, is the insured calls the carrier when they put the vehicle to bed for the year, say Sept/Oct or Nov. at that time, all coverage except comp is dropped. Then they call the carrier back in say April, and have all other coverages reinstated. This is a company to company deal. Not all carriers will allow this. If you are not looking to 'shut off' the other coverages for an extended time, but rather your point is that you just don't drive it 'much'..I don't know of any carriers that have anything special for that. I assume this is not your daily driver right? Do you have just a standard policy on this vehicle? Or is it a stated amount policy? I'm not sure what you mean by secondary insurance siimilar to antique cars _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake.
