welcome to the forums, your friend may be able to add you to his policy as a driver if that is something that you want to do, have your friend call their insurance company and see if this is possible or not.

yes, I agree with goodnatured you should ask your friend to have his agent add you as a driver to your friends current insurance policy.

Simply put by the others. But in case you find your friend has a problem with that let him speak to the dept. of insurance & find a better option for you!
