Please advise if you know any agent who writes homeowners coverage on a house built in 1935. The house is a 2bd/1bth frame in excellent condition. Recently remodeled. New roof.

Hey, why don't you try out communicating your case with the Florida Insurance council?

It is not a profit-making body & it comes to great help at times. I'd also offer you the helpline for the state DOI which is 1-800-342-2762.
All the best!

Hi,

I have 2 options for you...you may contact the FMA (Florida Market Assistance) to check out brokers & agencies operating at your place. You may contact them thru 1-800-524-9023.

Another option that I have for you is that you might call upon the Surplus Lines. These insurers do not have the license for Florida but are registered under it to offer some beneficial coverage options.
Inform me as & when you get results, Barbie_armstrong

Why would any agent that write HO policys not write this? What's the problem? I'm not understanding...also your states Dept of Ins website has links and 'report cards' of insurance carriers you might want to check that out to weed out ones that have experienced high instances of HO complaints etc..
