Can somebody update me with the essence of long term care and the
importance of long term care ?
How does it help the senior citizens?

Long term care insurance as per my knowledge would mean a lot of things more specifically a chronic symptom or a state of disability which needs a nursing attendant's stand by care. This is kinda care that helps towards your daily activities..e.g. bathing, eating, dressing up etc.
So we see a lot of personal care is being offered apart from an institutional care like nursing. Hope you got that Sil!

Hi Arin,
I believe you've just been able to miss out on some of the non-institutional benefits that come in the form of adult day care, hospice care & respite care..

Yeah, but i have heard that LTC is quite expensive & thats why most of us not being able to maintain it personally. I think one good reason for that would be the rising nursing home care costs in the recent times. But we ought to remember that medicare would not support all of the LTC services.
