I have recently read news on Houston Chronicle regarding State Farm bumping thier rates by 8% on all insurances from Oct 2009. Is that right and did you got any letter from State Farm with clarification?

| I hope not. Even though I do not have them personally, usually when one raises rates the others are sure to follow. I did recently have my policy renewed and updated through my own insurance company and got a lot better deal...hopefully it was not short lived. |

Hey Design,
Hasn't the chronicle quoted any of the officials on the reason for this hike? Is this increase going to be restricted to a certain area or it would be universal? |

Did they show it as a proposition? Or is it inevitable?
If it’s something they’ve decided upon, I really don’t see any reason why a carrier should lay an 8% hike for all coverage policies. I’m sure they’re not performing to same heights for all areas. What do you think?

| IK know if my rates were being hiked I would be calling my agent or insurance company and asking why especially if I had a good driving record. |
