The Elephants Have Arrived!

No, I'm not drunk, after all, it's only 3:35 pm.

Hello Everyone,

I'm excited about our new "Insurance Blogging" blog, say that three times in a row.

I have worked very feverishly in getting this blog up and running, so has Lakemen.

I feel that more people would blog if they actually knew what they were doing, so why did I start the blog? Anyway.

One of the traits of a successful person is that they try not to make the same mistakes as other successful people have. In other words, they want to make their own mistakes (new ones).

This blog is a work in progress, but there is enough information there right now to get you started.
(1) Deciding on a blog title
(2)Getting your blog uploaded to the server
(3)Developing a blog description.

If you feel you don't have the time, please visit the blog.
If you feel you don't have the knowledge, please visit the blog.
If you just don't want a blog, please visit the blog.

We will certainly need your help and input as this blog develops.

Our goal is to put ampminsure.org on top! Period.

Let's Blog!!

PS. The subject will make more sense once you visit the blog (I'm really not drunk.)

Good Luck!!

Hi andy007,

Sounds like a good decision to me.

I also need your help -

As you go through the blog, I would really like to know:

(1) Is the blog easy to read?
(2) Does the material make any sense?
(3) Is there too much information?

When we write, we can only see the material from one view point.
I need every Member to keep this blog on track.

Thanks, Good Luck and I will help you in any way I possibly can.

Hi Maze,

I am not sure how good my feedback would be but here is what I feel.

Is the blog easy to read?

You should try and lessen the no. of pages in the blog. May be you can do that by categorising the posts. I am not sure if people would like the idea of having too many pages. Too many pages would atleast confuse me!

Does the material make any sense?

Surely does to me. :)

Is there too much information?

No information is too much. :D

Thanks,
Andy

I just think they are so time consuming, too time consuming for me, I will just go see his if I feel the need. They are constant updating and finding new information to post, all that. You did an awesome job and I hope that you do keep it up, you set a very good example for others here who may be interested in blogging. goodluck with this.

First of all erb1953,
I gave you some bad info in the previous post, the page I wanted you to read is "Blogging Basics", sorry.

Thanks andy007,

You should try and lessen the no. of pages in the blog. May be you can do that by categorising the posts.

I addressed that same situation in the blog. Since all "posts" are arranged in reverse order (newest on top), I thought reading everything backwards would be confusing, but I'll work on it.

Hi goodnatured,

I just think they are so time consuming, too time consuming for me, I will just go see his if I feel the need. They are constant updating and finding new information to post, all that.

I certainly understand where you're coming from. I have a full-time job, volunteer in the community, have eight grandchildren, am writing a book, maintain six typical web sites, two blogs, I paint, and go to school. Time management is my worst enemy. This blog is four days old, that's all. Most of the time in blogging is spent setting up the "Admin" section. Maybe, it's like insurance itself, it's just not for everyone. If you should decide to blog, you will get all the help you can stand.

I almost forgot - Congratulations!!!!!!

Lakemen and I toyed with the idea of writing a new "Guide" section on blogging, but we finally decided to just put everything in a blog.

So, the blog is really a "Guide" section of this insurance community for every member to use.

Every member can have an input as to what gets posted to the blog, but, of course, I will have to do the posting.

So look at it and let us know what is "good" about the blog and what can be "improved".

Sorry just wanted to see how many times I could say blog in one sentence while actually making sense about blogs in the fashion that the blog was going for. Its such a fun word blog dont you think? Its kinda like a log and its kinda like a bloke so you combine the two to get a blog. So is a blog a fella made of wood?

Hi avengerki,

Could be, I guess. There are a lot of interesting "words" associated with blogging, like:

"Post Slug" - Could this be named after a slimy creature that leaves trails on your patio? or

"Widget" - Could this be a small "widgee"? or

"Plug-In" - Does this allow you to re-charge your cell phone while you are working on your blog?

These "computer" terms really sound dumb sometimes, at least to me.
Do computer people drink a lot, like painters?
