Can I legally decide to cancel my total loss vehicle claim, cancel my insurance policy with them and keep my vehicle and fix it myself with my parts? My truck was declared a total loss due to age and mileage and very little damage to tie rods and front under carriage. Can I just keep my vehicle without taking a pay off and go on down the road. I have a junked parts truck I can get all the parts to repair mine. Will it affect my title and will I still be able to get full coverage from another insurance company?

Yes you can do this. If you don't file the claim the insurance company should not touch the title. You may not be able to get an insurance company to write 1st party coverage on it. It just depends.

Bhill it really depends on the State you are in, certain states FL for example even if you fail to accept payment for the damages the insurance company will still list the car as a total loss and they will issue a certification of destruction in the state of FL that vehicle CAN NOT even be on the road in the state meaning you cant re-register the car in lets say GA then bring the car back to FL if you are stopped in FL the police will impound the car till you pay out of pocket to have it removed from the state.( and no you can not drive it out must be transported out ie tow truck)
