I just learned what a Sr-22 was myself. I guess if you always have insurance you never have to worry about these types of forms which means you wouldn't know much about them. I also could not agree with Nolen more. What would have happened if the tables were turned and the uninsured driver hit an insured driver? It would be one big headache for the person who paid their premiums.

fireyone,

You state:

"" It would be one big headache for the person who paid their premiums. ""

Maybe -- Maybe not.

In most cases you are likely correct.... But.... if it were me without insurance. (not that I'm going to do that)

I have a Home Equity Line of Credit with a Zero Balance. I could easily cut a check for the Maximum Pa. State Min. required insurance.

Med 5000 5000
Bi 15000/30000 30000
Prop 5000 5000

TOTAL 40000

only problem with that fred, is that people who CHOSE to drive uninsured, typcially don't have

a Home Equity Line of Credit with a Zero Balance.

but a good point still if it was an accident that they were uninsured, (ie some mix up and you, i or others were caught in the shorts..)

Yep,

That's why, in my response to fireyone, I stated "In most cases you are likely correct....

Gosh, that really could be the case. So these people could just drive around and not pay insurance for years knowing they have that ace in the hole. Chances are they probaly don't but you never know if the person really has the money to pay for insrance and just doesn't. Reminds me of a simialiar scenorio with the Amish and hunting license in this area. They all make fake tags from cereal boxes and write numbers on them. They say they are not paying for a license to hunt. My hubby and many, many other hunters never get a chance to get a deer from the money they invested in the license because each family has 7 or 8 kids hunting plus themselves . If that doesn't take out ahlf the population of deer then out of season hunting by them does. Nothing against them its just another case of someone feeling they are above the law. Its the people who try to get away with bare minimums or nothing at all that effects everyone else.
Gosh FK you really have me thinking about the home equity thing. Guess you can never tell how someones mind works.

If the answer to the first question is NO, then the answer to the second question is YES. If the answer to the first question is YES, then the answer to the second question is probably NO.
