I think it would depend on the company.

You obviously don't understand insurance contracts very well. It doesn't depend on the company, it depends on the definition. Accidental death is only an issue in an AD&D policy, and the exclusionary language usually has to do with self-inflicted injuries, suicide, or intoxication by drugs or alcohol. Murder/homicide is never stated as an exclusion in an AD&D policy.

Each company has their own definition MAX! I understand that you are THE ultimate source. Back off, I saw a post here that said. Wow one post and done,we need to get more insurance agents in here. It's people like Max that chase them out feeling belittled. Who wants to participate in a community that has Mr. Knowitall in it. Not every company is going to treat this situation the same way!

Yes, murder can be considered as accidental death as no one plans for his/her murder. When a person got murdered, it is not the time of his normal/actual death.

it is not the time of his . . . actual death.

Interesting concept. I guess a murdered person dies some other time according to DavidMayo.

Actually new member you are wrong, there are standard rules and laws that insurance company's have to adhere to for each state. But federal law dictates that someone who is murdered has suffered a death by accident. Only if it can be proven without a doubt that the person who has died had a part in their death, then any accidental insurance policy has to pay out the death benefits.

Instead of being someone who spends his time trying to appear to be smarter than others you could spend your time catching up on your facts new member.

I don't know of a federal law that states murder is an accidental death, but it is generally true that death by murder is considered accidental.
