at odds over CCC valuation

by spider1az » Tue Aug 12, 2008 05:32 am

Hi, my husband was hit last week and the other driver was at fault, our car was totaled and we are at odds over the ACV of our car with the insurance co. it's a 2005 Mini Cooper S with all the upgrades(leather, fog lamps, harman-kardon sound system, ugdo, rain sensors, dynamic stability control, cockpit package, mp3) everything (except sunroof) we paid 29,800 at the dealer and it's been highly maintained, no previous damage of any kind and 77,000 miles. Edmunds and local comps are showing between 19k(private) & 21k(dealer) to replace. The Insurance co. is using CCC and offering 15k, Would you have an ACV from someone other than CCC or Edmunds I could reference with the adjuster? Thank you!

The TVs cost $1000 and I purchased them about 7 months ago, the xbox was $400 purchased and installed with the TVs. The truck is also equipped with a factory DVD entertainment system…

would it be possible to send me a copy or screen shoot of your report, I'm not sure if its allowed but I would want to compeer it with the one they send me..

I'm a new graduate and I've only been working for a year i sacrificed a lot to purchase this truck, I really enjoy working on cars and I've spent a lot of time and money on my vehicle and made it a point to add every option to my policy so that I would be covered

I would think (subject to your policy re: after market equipment)...that your t.v.s and xbox should get you atleast half what you spent...You do of course have the receipts....
I'm trying to figure out how to get that from my lap top to my home computer give me a few minutes here

Did they use CCC to determine the value if not how did they arrive at this value?

Posted: Fri Aug 15, 2008 11:28 pm Post Subject:

yes they did use CCC

First you need a copy of the CCC evaluation, when you get it go over it VERY VERY carefully, check the year, make, model, mileage, ALL options....make sure they are all on there...check the condition that they marked it..(probably average)...then check the 'comps' call the comps and see if they are indeed the same as your vehicle....call some good used car lots, or better yet go by with pictures of your vehicle ask if they will write up something saying what they would be asking for your vehicle as it was equiped if it were for sale on their lot....when you call on the comps be sure you ask about all the equipment and if it had any prior damage, like hail, bumper scrapes, interior damge, lights cracked etc...let us know if the CCC evaluation is correct or if you find some errors....what company is it you are insured with Chanel?
