Where can you find cheap auto insurance quotes?

by Desikudi » Sat Mar 14, 2009 05:15 am

The internet is the best place you can seek cheap insurance quotes. It is not advisable that you go for a cheap policy because most such policies do not offer adequate coverage. With the rising cost of health treatments, you must have a proper insurance policy in place. Going for a cheap policy is not a wise thing to do. When in need, you will find your policy covering the bare minimum and will have to bear out-of-pocket costs.

It is always better that you assess your auto insurance needs and get a policy to cover these needs. Ask your insurance agent to design a policy that would cover you adequately and let him know how much deductible you would be willing to bear.

Instead of getting a cheap auto policy that provides inadequate coverage, you may try to lower the cost of your existing policy or the policy you would like to buy. Insurers often offer discounts to individuals who are cautious and take care of their vehicle. For example, if you have installed anti-theft devices in your vehicle to alert you of a theft, the insurance company might offer you a policy with discount in premiums. They appreciate if owners take initiative in protecting and preserving vehicles in good condition. There are several other ways that can help you convert your existing policy into a low cost coverage. Know more ... about how to save money on your auto policy.

i have been seaching for Cheap auto insurance Quote over the internet from last couple of days. Can someone elaborate more on this topic, it would be nice!! Thanks!

Have you tried searching with keywords like "cheap auto insurance quotes" ? There are several companies available on the internet offering insurance quotes, then there are the official sites of the insurance companies like-Geico, Progressive and the like. Some of them also offer a rate comparison between the competitors.

Wish you all the luck!

Okay, online searches have made looking for insurance very easy. One can search and compare several quotes without going to the different carriers/agent offices. But at the same time it has made it hard to trust one site since many of them are simple scams. One should be very careful about the information asked by the site while filling up the quote form.

While searching online for insurance, remember that you’re not required to disclose your personal information such as the SSN number, checking account or the credit card number, to obtain the quote.

IMO contacting a local agent would help you more.

Juanita

I know everyone wants cheap Auto Insurance. But.........you also may want to becareful on how much coverage you DO get, with these quotes. I know someone who changed her Insurance over to a 'local' Insurance company. She had gotten into an accident. She QUICKLY discovered that her 'Cheap Quote' din't even cover the 'State Minimum of what she was suppose to have. She was actually fined for NOT having "proper insurance." I don't care how popular Insurance companies seem to be, just becareful on who you pick and read the 'Fine Print' on every policy.

Hi Desikudi,

I don't care how popular Insurance companies seem to be, just becareful on who you pick and read the 'Fine Print' on every policy.

It's also important that you go through the paper works and talk to your agent about how the other factors would impact. If you'd think of a low-cost coverage you might just end up signing for a high deductible coverage. Please make sure that you're opting for a policy wherein you'd be able to pay for the deductible. I say this since your carrier won't pay you a single penny till you pay for the deductible.

Sd, you have mentioned a very good point here. Often we get carried away with the cheap rate and forget about the coverage issue. Its similar being uninsured or underinsured. Not only you would remain a threat to others, you may also end-up in a position where the insurer wouldn't pay for your damages as well.

Remember, that you deserve the services you have paid for. And, don't neglect the coverage issue for cheap rates.

SUCH a GOOD point!!!!!!!!!! I actually know someone who bragged she had a "very cheap (price wise) Insurance policy...until she got into an accident. She was NOT one to read the 'fine Print' on anything. Well..........her Deductable was $1000.00. She 'protested' she never knew this. So....as I say again, read the ENTIRE policy/contract. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Simply doing a search on the Internet for "Cheap Auto Insurance" is not always going to lead to positive results. Anyone can say they offer cheap insurance, but you get what you pay for, so when comes time to pay out, you may not be as happy as you were when you first signed up.

open up the yellow pages or google search insurance in your home town, and start calling, get a feel for the agent and how they treat you, let them run qoutes to compare rates.

you can get ideas online thru most all the different companies, but honestly, unless you provide some personal information it's simple a basic quote. Most all companies now utilize your driving history, length of insurance history, credit, claims, etc...not to mention ifyou have mutiple cars, homeowner, or other policies available to package.

as an agent and former adjuster, i highly recommend going with a local agent, brick and mortar office. the rates are the the same as an 800 number or online, but he/she will have a vested interest in you and will be looking to save you money, give good service, and go to bat for you at claim time.

There are critical factors that anyone who wants to get affordable but adequate insurance coverage has to consider. First, it is very important that your risk profile and that of the property you intend to insure play a very big part.

Therefore, if you want very affordable auto insurance, you need to work hard at improving your risk profile. And, in the case of an auto policy, try buying a vehicle that is insurance-friendly.

Then take some time to understand the subject of insurance better on your own. This will ensure that you don't get hoodwinked by agents who are more interested in bigger commissions that getting what's best for you.

Thereafter, you can start a thorough comparison shopping exercise. Get as many quotes as you can from a very wide range of providers in your area. But then make sure you confirm from your state's department of insurance that you are NOT dealing with a "BAD" insurer. Also, check forums to see how your preferred insurers treat current subscribers. Check their financial standing too since you don't want to left in the lurch.

These are a few things that will help you in your quest for much lower rates on superior coverage.

The only way to find the lowest rate for you is to shop the market.

Someone should make a website providing information on auto insurance companies: contact information, shopping tips, financial strength ratings, complaint ratios, customer satisfaction ratings, and a fast way to get quotes.

Help other people by telling where you saved money.

Thanks!
