send the totaled car back to me?

my car was declared totaled about a month ago. my insurance adjuster told me they will not pay the retail value for my car, and if I don't accept their offer, they will send the car back to me and close the claim. is this right?

After I got my CCC total loss report,

Nuff said, IMO ccc stinks...

I meant, how can I be settled when my questions were not answered

You can't nor should you be expected to..

Silly, honey I need to know if that is a 4 or 6 cyl motor?

with less than 55k mileage

I put it in at 54999 since you didn't have the exact miles...also need to know does it have alum/alloy wheels, leather seats, power sunroof, automatic or manual transmission, cruise control, power windows?

20165

translate that to a state for me honey please...let me know all of these and I'll be glad to run your value...I'll tell you this right off that your mileage (54,999) adds about 2400.00 to the value..

How much was the repair estimate to fix your vehicle Silly? Also when you ask these questions (re comps ccc has flagged) of the adjuster what is the response?

Another thing you could do, that doesn't require a lot of time, is a local 'market survey' you just need to call 3 or 4 good used car dealers (new car dealers usually have used lots too), and ask to speak to the manager, ask if he had your vehicle on his lot (give him all the info) what would he ask for it? Be sure that you document these conversations, ie, who you talked to the date, time, phone numbers, business name etc...

Personally I've not seen it done, I have however seen a draft for acv minus salvage value sent to the owners...please expand on the problem, also add the state you are in please.

Shall I say that this is where I got confused :?

The OP stated that the insurer has proposed to close the claim which is very unlikely to happen. The insurer would at least write the check subtracting the salvage if they would let the insurer retain the car.

Silly, I too would suggest you to follow Lori's advice. If you want to dispute their offer you better get documents to prove your worth.
