Hi Smith,

The CLUE report would contain only the information related to insurance claims. It, however, wouldn't have the traffic violation reported to it.
Clue stands for Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange and is accessible only by the owner of the property, insurer and lender. You can also request for the report from ChoicePoint to check if all the information reported to it are accurate.

Have you got anything of such reported to your CLUE?
Thanks, Rupert |

You are welcome buddy Happy to help
Remember that you can also receive your free CLUE report once in every 12 months. So you can check it to make sure that all the entries are correct in it.

| The CLUE report is only accident related incidents. Tickets are reported directly to the DMV and will show up on your MVR (motor vehicle record). Most companies report to choicepoint BUT some companies do not check that report such as Access General. |

Any particular reason for that, Agent?
IMO CLUE report plays an important role in determining the premium rate for the policy holder, now if they don't consult this report how would they determine whether or not to cover this business. Kindly explain |

| Thanks for all the replies. I'm just curious to know whether there is any limit on the number of times an incident is reported to CLUE, subseuqent to which many of the insurance providers won't write policy as the risk involved is high |

| I can not see it being legal to report an accident more than one time to a clue report. If it was reported twice I would imagine it would have to be looked at as one single incident. Anyone know for sure? |

| Thanks, my question was whether the insurance providers will stop underwriting insurance to any person who has been reports so many number of times to CLUE for different incidents (not the same being reported twice) |

well sometimes it CAN be reported more than once if the incident has another incident withing itself. Like a property damage claim and also a bodily injury claim.
and Rupert yes some companiesdo not report to choice point they report to a different company that I do not remmeber the name of off the top of my head. But there are also companies that ignore the choicepoint CLUE report entirely and do not put the accidents into consideration such as Access General like stated before....so some times placeing the client with a company like that is very benificial. |

Sounds like they have specialized in insuring high risk drivers. I think if a company does that they would surely charge higher rates than their competitors since they are lenient in underwriting. Am I wrong? |

rupert,
well yes the do specialize but as I stated before some companies report the accidents to a different company. And by chance Access is one of those. They do not only specialize in high risk but they do not check what choicepoint claims. |

Okay, ChoicePoint or the other but the insurance companies do a background check on the driver before writing the business.
I got the impression from your posts that some of the insurers write policies without looking at the claim history of the insured. But, thanks for clarifying it for me.
Thanks,
