I would like to know my car was stolen, but recovered today, and it was stripped engine and transmission was taken no wheels, is that considered a total loss to the insurance company?

It may depend upon the policy of the insurance company. You need to contact the insurance company and let the adjuster take a look at its condition. If the cost of repairing the vehicle crosses a certain limit they might deem it as totaled.

It may also depend upon your state's guidelines on declaring the vehicle ‘totaled', different state maintain different threshold which can vary from 50% to 91% of the ACV of the car.

Turn the claim to the insurer, without knowing the make and model and also the actual cash value of the vehicle its difficult to comment whether it'd be considered as total or not.

More than likely but it will depend on the value of your vehicle...If you'd like me to check provide either the VIN or yr/make/model/mileage/all options, and we can check that against what the parts your have mentioned would cost to replace..

Sorry to hear about your vehicle. I have seen them actually repair a stolen vehicle. A family member had one stolen and although it was pretty damaged they still fixed it. I can only imagine what a new tranny and motor run so it may be a close call for you. Hopefully you will give Lori the details on your vehicle and let us know how it all worked out for you. Good Luck
