Hi friends!
Yours is a truly wonderful forum..so please guide me regarding a simple thing.
If I'd need to go on a trip abroad, do I get coverage under my U.S. auto insurance policy?
I have plans to move to Mexico or Canada within a couple of months. So, what do ya think!

Our auto policy will entend 75 miles into Mexico for a max of 10 days. For
Canada, it is 30 days max but you have to increase your limits of liability to 50/100/50.

the ‘Mexican endorsement’
For anyone reading the very old post above about this topic, the Mexican endorsement is virtually worthless. In Mexico, failure to have a Mexican auto policy (may be purchased at the border from various agents) when involved in a collision, and you can expect to be thrown in jail -- it is a criminal offense!! You can argue all you want about having a US-issued auto policy with a Mexican endorsement or provision, but you have no civil rights in Mexico (no "reciprocity" there), and your argument will fall on deaf ears, although the corrupt hands that are associated with the deaf ears may gladly accept a couple of hundred dollars under the table to make the charges go away.
Now as to Javed's new post, US-issued PPO plans may cover health care expenses in Canada. HMO plans will only cover "emergency" health care. You'll just have to work with an experienced local agent/broker to find the right company for your needs.
