| OH MY!! I'm so sorry to hear what happened. Is your child ok?! That would be my FIRST concern, of course. Did you exchange Insurance information, etc.? Are YOU ok? |

| Not getting his personal and insurance information was _your_ first mistake. It's required that drivers license and insurance information be exchanged at the time of the accident. So even if he was willing to pay for it out of his pocket, you still should have obtained this information. I'm guessing that he's not going to give it to you at this point. My suggestion is to file a late police report. If you have his name, address, and tag info, you _might_ be able to request his last known insurance information from the DMV but that is iffy. In filing the police report you will be asking them to obtain his insurance information as required by law. But it's up to the police/sheriff department as to how cooperative they are going to be. You may need to press them to obtain this information for you. |

Do you have collision coverage on your vehicle? If so report this to your carrier asap...what about the guy at the repair faciliyt will he 'vouch' for you that the jerk of a doc said he would pay? find out...as T said go to the police station tell them you were sweet talked by a doctor (someone you THOUGHT you could trust) to not turn in a report, now you need their help and you're sorry you didn't turn it in quicker...and act pitiful...get in touch with Walmart right now, see if they still have the tapes... _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. Track him down in the phone book and go to his office..heck if he was that big of a jerk I'd even schedule an appointment and when he asks what your problem is you can tell him. You can also assure him you have contacted the police. I don't know if you can get in trouble but I sure wouldn't let him get away with it.
I remember when my hubby had my car and someone he knew hit it and said he would pay. Hubby took him at face value..I didn't..I knew he was drinking cause he was a local alcoholic..I went to his house demanded the info or was calling the police..he gave me the info...Like T said for future knowledge ALWAYS get the insurance info before leaving a scene. |

Turning the claim to your insurer seems to be the most suitable solution (also convenient) at this moment. The insurance company can track the driver down once compensating you for the damages. The police might or might not co-operate since some time has lapsed in between, but it worth a try. Also you may discuss the matter with your agent, he may be able to guide you about what to do.
Anyway, you can take this as a lesson for life time not to trust anyone on their face value. Do you have any medical issue from the accident? |

I like fire's idea, maybe make an appointment under an assumed name, tell them you are a wealthy person and will be paying cash try and run up as much as you can prior to seeing the doc (be sure and cover your plates on your car)..then when you see the doc...ask if he's going to pay for your damage or not? If he says no, then I'd say, well, I'm not either, and I plan to go to YOUR ethics committe you jerk ... course this is ranting, but sure does sound like a good idea...or maybe threaten to drive around town with signs on your car and in your yard, and parked in front of his office saying something like, ''doctor (insert name)..is now under an ethics investigation' (after you file it, who cares if they do anything about it)...oh I'm mean some times..what 'type' of doctor is he? _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. In a similar situation, I asked for tapes from a convenience store parking lot mishap. They claim they are not required to let you view any tapes.
Can such tapes be required to be made available in any legal way? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| Thats pretty good thinking on guests part. I was so angry at this jerks "better than thou" attitude that I didn't think of that. I hear word of mouth is an excellent way to get something spread around. I'm sure the guy has some patients floating around the area...I love the sign idea. |

| I have a friend, here in PA, that works as security, at Walmart. He was telling me that Walmart has camera'a ALL over the place. Especially in the parking lot. You may want to see what you can do from that aspect. |

| If you go to the service desk you will see cameras for in and out of the store. There are also ones by the door that shows just the parking lot. They have so many ways to have cameras that most people wouldn't even believe. Cameras are so small now that you could look and not know they are there. I can't say I blame them woth all the shoplifting and all. When I worked at fashion bug they had one for outside and one for inside. They also had bought a bunch of fake cameras that actually look like the real thing and put them through the store. We had a bunch of teen that came in a pack and shoplifted...this put an end to it. I think if you go ask you will find a big store like Wal mart has more cameras than just the ones seen by the naked eye. |
