Good Afternoon

I have/had a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT, with an off road package. It has about 140k miles on it. The other night my mother rolled it over. I have been informed by my insurance company that it it a total loss. I am going to be contacted within the next day to discuss the value. This truck was in great condition, no damage and mechanically perfect. I want to be prepared for the call and I have looked on KBB but I have heard that KBB is not how value will be determined, any advice?

Good Morning everyone,

And thank you all for the advice, it certainly came in handy. The insurance company called me and did try to give me a low ball quote, by about 1000. Fortunately I had done my research that was advised here and I had Lori's estimate which was very similar to the trucks i found for sale on the internet. (I have a style side by the way)

I was able to point out that I found several similar trucks in my area for substantially more and then I faxed a copy of the sale notices and within minutes they were back to me with a more reasonable offer, which was almost exactly what Lori provided me.

Thank you all so much for helping me prepare!!
