No Pay No Play

Promotes the idea that individuals who do not purchase coverage should not receive benefits. This does not allow uninsured drivers to be compensated by insured drivers. In many states uninsured drivers need to pay a certain amount as deductible before they can sue any party for bodily harm or for property damages.

How is it possible in Missouri that I am being sued by an uninsured driver in a no fault accident? I carry full coverage including uninsured/ underinsured.

Because the other driver/owner does not agree that it was a "no fault" accident. Almost all (or all) accidents are not no ones fault. Someone needs to have some degree of negligence or the accident would have never occured.

UM and UIM (probably bodily injury, not property damage... but that does not matter) is coverage for yourself when someone else does not have coverage/enough coverage to address _your_ loss. In this case the other party is stating that you caused _them_ a loss.

If you are sitting still, waiting to turn when traffic clears, and you are hit from the rear, car totaled, sending both passenger and driver to the hospital, one with a concussion; the car a volvo and the other is an f150 off road tires, jacked up. The injured parties insurance expired, not realizing it; insurance has been paid up until then, I don't understand how you can say no pay no play is fair.

I just can't plain understand. Perhaps using _some_ type of grammar or sentence structure might help.

Since "extinuating" is not a word, I'll have to say no.

Well, if your uninsured vehicle were not on the road at all, as it should not have been. You and your vehicle, and passengers would not have been hit. Remember, the no pay no play states typcially still provide for 'economic' losses..meaning your medical bills, loss of wage etc. Just no 'extra' money for your pain/suffering/etc.

Let me ask you something..how 'fair' is it that I pay my prems. every single month for 34 years...but you don't have to? You can rearend me at the same light, and not have the coverage or means to repair me or my vehicle?

Wow, LORI... guess you made your point!! I've had friends (yep..said "HAD") that drove without a vaid DL, no Insurance, etc. and had gotten into accidents. Then...when the OTHER Insurance companies say "you have to pay for our clients damages" they actually get mad! Their attitudes are, "how dare they do this to me!", etc. Well........what do they (past friends) expect?! They needed to own up to their responsibilities. Don't you agree?

Couldnt agree more SD, ask my poor (grown) kids...Mama Lori don't play irresponsiblity very well

"MAma LORI?"..oh, that's cute!! Being a single parent..yep..it can get a bit tight (financially). However...I just wouldn't drive without Insurance. It's just an iggnorant thing to do (speaking 'generally', I mean). I would rather barrow the money, to pay my payment, every month, then drive without it. The fines, etc., should be 'incentive enough' NOT to drive without Insurance. :?
