No Pay No Play

Promotes the idea that individuals who do not purchase coverage should not receive benefits. This does not allow uninsured drivers to be compensated by insured drivers. In many states uninsured drivers need to pay a certain amount as deductible before they can sue any party for bodily harm or for property damages.

Not to mention ruining you (and your son) financially for EVER if you cause an accident...not wise, nor responsible.

As to the "mama lori" thing...been called that by most that know me (including grown men that worked for me), for 20 years or more. Clearly I tend to 'mother' everyone

No Pay / No Play is fair. Why should u reap the benefits of insurance if u dont pay into. Its a pool risk by all drivers. And policies just dont cancel... most insurance companies keep u paid up at least 30 days in advance and send bills and cancelation notices. If your policy cancels it happens cus u knowing let it happen, so u should stop driving. Again uninsured people are just a burden on the honest people who take care of ther responsibilities

I just wanted to clarify, there is NOT a No Pay/No Play law in effect in Texas.

State Representative Frank Corte in San Antonio has filed his "No Pay/No Play" legislation every session for over a decade, but it never passed.

I don't think you fully understand the situation. I don't pay into your insurance... it's not a pool of 3rd party people. If I don't pay my insurance bill on time should that just give you a walk when you run into my parked car? Why should _you_ be able to walk away from causing damage to my property just because I did not pay my insurance bill in time? Keep in mind that there are already penalties that I suffer when this happens. I am issued a citation and this usually means I need to explain myself to a judge, pay fines and get insurance on my vehicle. I then also need to prove that I'm maintaining that insurance. Lastly my premiums are now much higher. But I'll ask again, does my not having insurance excuse you from being responsible for the loss that _you_ caused?

No Pay No Play also does not consider why a person does not have insurance. What if a child is insured under his parents policy and his parents don't pay the bill. The child may not know he does not have valid insurance. Should he not be able to collect from another party that caused him a loss? Again, he's already going to penalized for not having insurance... why should the person who caused the loss get a free walk?

Yes, I understand No Pay, No Play only comes into play for non-economic losses... but this is simply another reason why it does not work. If I don't have insurance and someone hits my car... my car is still going to be paid for.

No Pay, No Play is simply another law that makes people feel better... it really does very little to help the problem.

- try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

I was hit head on my insurance was canceled before HAPPEN HER,INSURANCE COMPANY NOT GOING TO PAY .FOR MY CAR SHE IS AT fault DID not yield .can take her to court

What is the reason her insurance company denied your claim? Did they tell you that they determined that their insured was not at fault?

You can sue anyone for anything. Doesn't mean you will win. But by not having insurance of your own, you will only be able to collect for the damage to your vehicle and any direct medical expenses you incurred. Nothing for "pain and suffering" in most states.
