You might have to contact the insurer and ask the same question. However, if you still continue driving the van, it wouldn't change the rates much. How old is the vehicle? Do you still have lien on it? I'd say discuss the issue with the agent. You may also shop around to check if you can get better rates.

Thanks,

i suggest that that drop the existing policy and take a new policy which is specially for retired citizens....this will give u much better benefits.....but if u want to keep the existing policy then ask ur agent to update ur policy rate at the time of renewals....u will surely get some discounts as you r not earning now

Flanana58,

The only thing you can do is ask your agent. Each company uses its own rating plans and discounts, so there is no universal answer.

My company DOES offer discounts, both for being retired, and for driving the vehicle less. Not every company does the same, however.

I respectfully disagree with Super Agent, however. There is no need to cancel your policy. If you do not like your coverages, then just update your current policy's coverage selections. A good policy with a good company will cover you just as well whether you are retired or working.
