Oh honey, I'll bet he is pissed ! Shocked Just call whomever it is that suspended his license (dmv i would assume) ask if you can fax the sr22 to them it was a mistake, and seriously tell them the truth, you screwed up and your husband is about to kill you...ain't a married person in the world that won't understand that and try to help...don't beat yourself up too much...and just ask them if they can help you fix this asap...

I was wondering does the OP have to pay the license reinstatement fees again for revoking the suspension.

I'm aware that you're required to pay certain fees to the DMV to lift the suspension from the license. However, not sure whether you're required to pay the fees everytime to need to reinstate the license or not.

LOL...Thats what I am betting on too. I though would much rather swollow an extra fee then deal wiht the hubby getting pulled over with out a license. That could add up to more tropuble and higher fees.

an SR22 is a type of policy that people are forced by a judge to get, usually after a dui and/or other offenses....they generally must maintain an SR22 for three years maybe less depending on the circumstances, they cannot drive without it and are in violation of their probation without it...It's expensive, and pretty much is a policy that an ins carrier writes that says, we'll cover this jug head for EVERYTHING...

This question has come up alot recently. Thats why I like ti here...you really learn things..I never heard of this form until recently. I really think the SR22 is a good thing to have especially when a person repeats the same actions.

I guess if you are gonna play you will have to pay right?

Do insurance companies hesitate to put these policies in place?

Would there be a circumstance where they would not let someone have one of these policies?

You'd have to get it from a company that will write high risk, and a sr22 cost a lot in premium..

I know all non-standard companys would write it...not sure about others, could be that all are required to write a precentage, but I honestly don't know...I do know it's not that tough to get one though.

In your honest opinion do you think these policies help? I would imagine that after paying higher premiums and going through all the hassle it would have to help some. I think anything we can do to keep non insurance carrying drivers or those with so many DUI's is a good start to trying to clear the road of hazards like these. Of course some people it never helps but their has to be some that does see the light and do things the right way.

Certainly they help, the public at large at least...an sr22 pretty much states, that the insurance company will cover anything this bone head does... Wink and once a person has paid that high of a premium for years, you would think that when they return to 'standard' status and are paying a reasonable premium they would NEVER want to get stuck with that high of a premium again...but as you said some will 'never' learn, and apparently have more money (premium) than sense...but the vast majority i think learn their lesson.

Thats what I like to see. Good things like this put into place. Consequences are sometimes the best punishment and if paying higher premiums is one of those consequences I believe its a good thing. Just like when you drop your insurance and have to mail in your plates. If the laws become stricter on things like these then it can stop some "bonehead" from possibly turining someone elses life upside down. I see some posts about non insurance drivers hitting someone else and having to worry and really I want to feel bad but I don't. Seen this old man getting his mail last year and some girl who had to much(alcohol) hit him. Left him laid up for a long time and left him with more bills than what he carried in insurance. She had no insurance. It was pretty sad because he was always doing great things for other people. Really didn't deserve this blow.
