In your honest opinion do you think these policies help? I would imagine that after paying higher premiums and going through all the hassle it would have to help some. I think anything we can do to keep non insurance carrying drivers or those with so many DUI's is a good start to trying to clear the road of hazards like these. Of course some people it never helps but their has to be some that does see the light and do things the right way.

Certainly they help, the public at large at least...an sr22 pretty much states, that the insurance company will cover anything this bone head does... and once a person has paid that high of a premium for years, you would think that when they return to 'standard' status and are paying a reasonable premium they would NEVER want to get stuck with that high of a premium again...but as you said some will 'never' learn, and apparently have more money (premium) than sense...but the vast majority i think learn their lesson.

Thats what I like to see. Good things like this put into place. Consequences are sometimes the best punishment and if paying higher premiums is one of those consequences I believe its a good thing. Just like when you drop your insurance and have to mail in your plates. If the laws become stricter on things like these then it can stop some "bonehead" from possibly turining someone elses life upside down. I see some posts about non insurance drivers hitting someone else and having to worry and really I want to feel bad but I don't. Seen this old man getting his mail last year and some girl who had to much(alcohol) hit him. Left him laid up for a long time and left him with more bills than what he carried in insurance. She had no insurance. It was pretty sad because he was always doing great things for other people. Really didn't deserve this blow.
