Insurance premium after auto accident

Hello,

Please kindly help me my concern.

I had a minor auto accident last year, I was at fault, so my auto premium went up at renewal last year, but my auto premium went up again at renewal this year as well, will I get a rate increase at every renewal? or should the rate only be raised once and continue for 3 years as I have heard from my friends?

Since I have an accident on my record now, in your opinion, if I try to switch and get quotes from some other auto insurance carrier, in general, will I usually get an even higher rate then my current already increased rate? or the other carriers might quote me a lower premium even though I had an accident last year, but because the other carrier did not pay out liability coverage for me, so they might quote me a lower rate?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Lori,

that's why i call the policy services dept or underwriting dept to make sure this second one was correct.

I will call to check out why, could you please also let me know that my automobile insurance agent said that they cannot do anything about it, and they don't know why the carrier cancelled another discount either, is it true that agents don't know such things? I thought agents gives us quotes on policies, they kind of do what the policy services dept or underwriting dept do, is that right?

Thanks a lot.

no the agent 'should ' be your adjvocate and liason beteween yo uand the company, he is answer (IMO) shows both a a lack of ambition and laziness....it's his job to get in there and fight for your and and aminimally get some answers which his are not, (IMO) His answers are no better than (as i told my kids for years,) 'because i sais so.'' no good enough
