| Hello my Car was hit in Oct 09 and a check was given to me in the aount of 4400 and only had my name on it, i waited 3 months for my car to be fixed then i cashed it and paid off some bills, i got my car back in Jan. and they didnt ask for the money: now its March and they are asking for it, i will pay it but cant all at once, but can happen to me and what are my options? |

The body shop can turn your debt over to a collection company, they can report this to the credit agencies and they can file suit against you to obtain a judgement.
They _might_ be able to obtain a mechanics lien and pick up your car. I'm not sure about this, though.
What would you do if your employer did not pay you after a month? Just said, sorry... I'll pay you when I have the money... see you in the morning! |
