My 27 year old has a revoked liscense for a DWI conviction in april of 2008.
I am being canclled by geico as a result becuase he was on my auto insurqnce when this took place and they say he has access to my and my husbands car and therefore we are a risk to carry.
I need to show proof my son has his own non drivers policy or some kind of insurance so I and my husband can hold auto insurance.
Someone at geico suggested a non drivers insurance policy for him but I have been unable to find any agent willing to help us.
Can you tell me what kind of policy I need to be asking for. I am lost and running out of time. Geico is due to cancell us on August 28, 2008.

Thank you for any help.

I am very interested in these books. We are going to take our daughter out to dinner and a movie tonight so I am going to try and get them.
I really do understand what you mean about not having to worry. That worrying can take over your life so quickly. I get so tired of it myself.
I relized from an early age that this all seemed like a cycle. I told myself that this is not how my life or my childrens is going to be. That is the best decision I ever made..the worst one was actually staying in that area.
I am not much for the head shrink stuff either. Never been a fan of running to the doc for every ailment. The pain clinic actually suggested it because I am having trouble coping with the pain in my arm so I thought well why not see if there is something else they can suggest for dealing with all this. I have already told them this WILL not be a continuing thing.
It only sounded interesting because they said I could learn ways to deal with the pain and stress without narcotics (I refuse to take any). Thought there could be something I am missing and why not give it a try sonce it may help with the other issues also.
I know I will pull through this..I have been through a lot in my life even before all this and have gotten myself back up to the top so I can and will do it again.

I would like to add my '2 cents' into this thread. My brother-in-law, who works for the Chief Attorneys genral's Office in CA, passed ( what you call..) the '3 Strike Law' ( If you have 3 DUI's, in the state of CA, your license will be revoked.) He went to Washington DC and spoke in front of the Senate to pass this law. I'm very proud of him.

Bravo! Absolutely no reason someone should be on the road DUI.

Thanks for the wonderful comment, LIFE!! Yep......I agree. DUI's can really mess your life up. A friend of mine just got his license suspended because of a DUI. He blames EVERYONE!! Says he, "can't pay his bills cuz he can't get to work", ......that sort of thing. I told him 'straight out'. he should have thought about that before he got in the car.

Baloney...your freind brought this on himself. I have a brother that feeds everyone the same line...I always tell him "what if you hit someone and inured them permanently? How would they gt to work let alone be able to". I really have NO sympathy SD for these types of people and don't really have a good word to say (which is unuasual for me). Tell your bro-in-law I said Thank you.

Tell ya' what usually hits them closer to the heart than , 'what if you hurt someone' ask them how they'd feel if 'some other' drunk struck down their own child...

Thats definatley an eye opener there. It should work for my brother since he has about 4 kids already. This actually just heppened really close to my own homwe last year. A neighbors child was hit and killed. Opened everyones eyes for a while, even the notorious drunk drivers, but it wore off to soon.

My brother-in-law was telling me ( some time back..) that one of the 'punishments' for a drunk driver killing someone is to be Court-Ordered to go to the Morgue, WITH a police officier, and look at the body, of the person who he hit. He said when it is a child, laying in the morgue it seems to have 'double the effect' ( lack of a better word). This is in the state of CA. If you have been drining, why don't 'you' use some responsibility and stay off the road ( just venting here)?
