Your carrier should cover their own property...doubt they will cover your personal property though, have you turned in the claim to them? (your employer?)

Your renters or homeowners insurance should address the property that you own (less your deductible). Your employer needs to address the theft of their property (through their own insurance).

Did you file a police report? Usually if the company itself is going to cover the items they will want a police report.

This wouldn't be covered under the comprehensive portion? How can one get coverage for these small items with their auto policy?

I have heard this before. I kind of think its a little wierd since it seems like a car insurance issue but I am betting it is covered under home owners as T said.

no (or very little) personal property coverage is ever covered under the comp coverage in fact most is excluded it (personal property)...

there are some endorcements you can get for certain things...some times this is company dependent

At least it would be covered one way or the other as long as the person had some type of homeowners. It would then boil down to how much the deductible was and whether it was worth the claim right?

well maybe...in my state many things that one would expect to find in your car are specficially excluded in the HO contract if they are 'in or upon a land motor vehicle'...(ie cd's, radar detectors etc)....the are covered for theft other places just excludes if they are in or on the car.

Then would this not leave thnose items uncovered? If the car insurance company would not cover them and homeowners refused then you would just have to swoll the loss? I guess then when I was not in my vehicle I would not keep these itmes with in veiw or maybe in my bag since the can be pretty expensive.
