I had recently bought a new car and had just bought insurance and 2 days later my car was stolen. I reported it to the police and everything. Will my insurance cover this? I have full coverage. Please help. Thanks

Hi Michelle, I dont see any reason why they wouldnt cover this. If you reported to police and got the report and submit the correct information to your insurance they will cover this with no problem i see. Hope all goes well for you and im sorry about your situation and lost.

It should be covered but be prepared to answer a _lot_ of questions. I have little doubt that the claim will be referred to the carrier Special Investigation Unit in order to perform an in-depth investigation.

Gary, I don't think its going to be as easy as it sounds. Loosing a brand new car just after purchasing is likely to wave the red flag to the insurer. As Tcope has said the insurer would submit the claim with the SIU.

OP, under what circumstances the car was stolen? Wasn't it properly secured? Please provide more information.

If you have insured your car by Auto insurance policy they must have to cover your stolen car & you already reported that to police so there is no any question about not paying you.

But by my experience they will not pay easily to you as tcope says they will ask you questions 1 by 1 so be prepare to answer to them. They will complete many inquiries about your stolen car as well as they will get report from police.

Thanks & Regards.

Yes im sorry you are correct they will ask question about last time you saw the car. Did you lock it? Does it have an alarm? Where was it parked. But with a police report and if your statement and answers are correct and sound good and true, Im sure they will cover this it will just take time for the insurance company to sort this out. Hope all works out.

I do not see why they would not. As long as you have a insurance binder or already have your policy, they should pay for it.

Daniel, while they may in the end pay for this vehicle theft, your statement is off the mark, they do not 'have' to pay for it just because she reported it to the police...There are many factors, that have to be considered, especially since it was stolen two days after insuring it!

Just curious Daniel, what is your experience, in claims handling?

The deal is a claim like this (as prior posts have stated) throw a bunch of red flags, and as Tcope stated most likely will be sent directly to the SIU dept for handling, I would expect them to want an exam under oath as well...Nothing to worry about I'm sure you are on the up and up, it will just take quite a bit of time to get thru the investigation, (ie they'll run a credit check on you, talk with the police, EUO etc)...

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions as you go thru this process, we'd be happy to help if we can

we had a brand new dump truck (4 days old from purchase date) but first day we took delivery of the vehicle and it was stolen out of our fenced in parking lot. We got the full amount paid for the truck but NOT the improvements we had installed like the hydo dump bed. We ended up loosing 8,000 on the deal. It took the Ins company 8 months to settle. We had notified the police the next morning and called and cancelled a waste disposal sticker that was on the truck and the theives had hutzpa LOL they stole the truck at night, was waiting at the dumps(we had used it the day of delivery and it was full of construction debris) and while I was on the phone with the Solid Waste Authority they were using our account to dump the debris. What nerve. They never did recover the truck.
