Hi everyone,
I really need help with this..
My car was hit - very badly- as an accident happened right next to it about three weeks ago. I found my car with a police report on the door.
So I contacted the insurance companies of the two people who had the accident. (I only have liability) - Both companies sent people to look at my car, they said it was totaled. But after numerous phone calls, they both are now denying that their insurer has the fault in the accident - I mean, both say that the other party has the fault and that they won't pay me anyhting. I guess all I can do now is to sue them but I don't even know if I am supposed to sue the insurance companies or the people who had the accident.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi again,
the milage of the car is 139,000. There was no unrepaired damage outside or problems maybe a few minor rust on the windshield. The inside of it it pretty much perfect. It had a small accident before but all parts were replaced and looked perfectly new.

A couple last thing, I just spent 800 dolars getting the shocks and mounts replaced a month ago. I have the reciept, so I can ask for that too, right?
And how do I back up the amount that I am asking for. I mean I can write 5000, 4700, or etc. But I don't have financial proof other than and estimate from a local body shop. How do I prove the judge that I am asking for what I deserve?

Im in IL, the accident was in sept.

thanks!!!!!!!

You can certainly ask but the truth is this is maintence...but of course ask anyway...who knows....(i wouldn't add anything for it)

OK I get $4725.00, based on NADA sept addition, midwest region....

How do I prove the judge that I am asking for what I deserve?

What are they saying the value is again? and did you get a copy of their evaluation showing EXACTLY how THEY came to this ACV?

You need to call about three local (GOOD) used car dealers, ask them what they would ASK for your vehicle on the lot...be sure and get the name of the person you are talking to....they will need same info I ask for....again, what about their evaluation?

You could also do an interenet search of three local dealers. This would at least give you an idea of where to start in your area. Sometimes with all the car dealerships that are out there you can spend a lot of time looking for a certain vehicle..this would give you actual car comparrisons.
