If the insurance adjuster authorized the repairs to my vehicle and I did not should I have to pay the $500 deductible?

The part I'm missing... Days, did you obtain a rental while your vehicle was in the shop? If so, why would you do this unless you thought your vehice was going to be repaired?

I was in an a car accident the (other driver was at fault) I made a claim with their insurance and they sent out and appraiser and I later received a letter in the mail with the appraisal i took the car to a body shop and showed them the appraisal for damages he said not to worry and that he would contact the insurance company and come to an arrangement of the cost for damages he then says the insurance company will send someone to get a full appraisal of the damages he calls me after and says that he spoke to the insurance and that they approved it for tear down and repairs and I was happy to hear great news I felt like my car would finally be repaired the next days he calls.me and says that the insurance said that they never authorized anything and i didn't authorize for my vehicle to get taken apart or repaired in fact the receipt given to me by the body shop has no amount due for total repairs the receipt has my signature but not under the box where it says to accept and sign if you're paying cash I signed the bottom box where it says authorized and accepted but no total ammount or actual parts.and cost and i signed this under the impression that the insurance company would pay for it what can i do to get my car back in my possession as quick as possible I don't have the money to pay the repairs please help and thank you for your time it is greatly appreciated, I hope to hear from you soon I am very frustrated and concerned at this point.

Aside from the fact that your post is one long run-on sentence which makes it extremely difficult to read, you are not asking a question related to insurance, but one related to contract law and/or state consumer laws.

You need to direct your question to the state agency that handles automotive repair shops. In CA we call it the Dept of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automotive Repair. If the repair shop has failed to follow prescribed state regulations, you may not have to pay anything.
