Help a friend in need!

I’m fairly new to the community so HELLO! I’m currently a police officer with a large city in the south and I do have a four year degree from Auburn University. I’m looking to get into the insurance game being that my father owns an agency and is doing very well for himself. I would like to start as an insurance claims adjuster and work my way up to CAT claims or investigations. Can anyone give me any insight of how to get this ball rolling? I have applied to several insurance companies trainee positions it’s been a week and I’m still waiting for a responds. I’m enrolled in a license program coming up Nov. 30. Any advise and knowledge is very much welcome looking forward to getting to know you ALL!

I wouldn't be discouraged by a week...the market is flooded with experienced, qualified adjusters..many carriers have laid off and cut back, thus flooding the market. It may be a long wait...unfortunately.

Register with all the carriers that have sites, the ones with sites typcially have 'career's on their sites where you can post your resume'...also there are job/career sites (hot jobs, career builder, great ins jobs, etc.).

investigations seems like a good fit for you given your background, or assessing.

You could also look at risk assessment, given you exposure to criminal activity, and the best ways to prevent/minimise loss due to burglary and/or malicious damage
