Expired insurance against no valid license in Georgia

My wife had expired insurance and backed into a car in a parking lot. The damages were around 1000 dollars, plus we are covering a rental car for the party. AT the time of rental, it was found out that the person my wife hit has an expired drivers license for 4 months. This happened in Georgia. Can the driver with no license make a claim against my wife, and does my wife have to cover anything now out of pocket?

oh! I missed out that line I think

I do stuff like that all the time Jeremy don't sweat it...

Anyways, then it seals the deal for her, right?

in what way do you mean that? (seals the deal)

I'm also curious to know what else can happen to her for driving without insurance?

Well in this case no cops so she won't get in 'that' trouble...

Can she get herself banned for lifetime?

no, some carriers won't write ins on someone that has went uninsured ever...but their are many more that will...In this case the OP is taking care of all the damage to the other party out of his/her pocket...which of course is the 'right' thing to do (albeit a heck of a lot more expensive than just paying your premium)...most/many states don't actually have laws requiring ins. rather they have 'financial responsibility' laws...in this particular accident the OP has met his financial responsibilty 'for this accident' I'm sure they don't have a bond filed with the state or anything

would it affect her insurability in the future?

absolutely it could, and it could certainly affect her premium as well...if they were a few days late and then reinstated their coverage, that's different and they'll be ok, (can't tell by post just says 'expired' could have been 'expired' for years we don't know)...
