MDCP

My child receives MDCP and I am not happy with the home health agency. They send me a provider when THEY think I need one. (Some weeks not at all.) They are not meeting my needs at all. I don't want to "agency jump." I have tried working with this agency, but the customer service just isn't there. Is this a common problem? What can I do? What happens to my child's unused money at the end of the year? (For all the weeks that I have gone without a provider.)

If you're 'gut feeling' is NOT being satisfied with services, then I would go with another agency. I'm not sure about giving you a correct answer on "where does the money go?" I'm sure an Expert, on the Forum, will be by soon. Just curious..can you tell me what state you live in?

As I look at the documentation for Texas' MDCP, the "unused money" is simply that. It remains unused. It is not a cash entitlement to your child. I see nothing that prevents you from seeking another provider agency.

It's good that this question has popped in your head all of a sudden. I'd still wonder what you've been doing all this while.
