They said they couldnt do a full evaluation of claim bc i didnt sign the medical authorization form. Even tho i sent them everything also. I guess they dont trust me bc the claim is big. Im just going to send it to them bc i want to settle and get it over. Also do my landlord have to accept liability in order for insurance to?

Hi gb298888, nice to hear back from you. Well, the claimant has to sign the medical authorization form in order to give the right to the insurer to obtain his medical documents and bills directly from his physician. This is required in order to process the claim faster and needed in almost all the bodily injury claim settlements.

The faster you can make this document available to them, faster they will settle your claim. However, never forget to read the wording of the document before signing it. If some part of the text is not clear to you ask for clarification form the adjuster. If you give them the access to all your medical docs, they can use some of them against you while negotiating the claim.

Hope your worries get over soon.

Thanks,
Carol

At times the claim process can stretch longer than required and its quite okay to feel frustrated towards it. But it also shows us the importance of filling-up all the documents and forms associated with the claim process properly for a faster claim-settlement. In many cases the unnecessary delay happens because of the negligence of the claimant. Not filling up the forms properly, failing to send all the required documents and so forth are very common. We can instigate the claim process by taking little time in preparing a proper claim-kit with all the required documents.

Wishing you all the luck. But can you explain the following statement little more....

Also do my landlord have to accept liability in order for insurance to?

No the landlord themselves do not need to accept liablity, the insurance carrier just has to determine they were negligent thus liable for your injury..

The carrier cannot proceed without the requested information, get that to them and they will get your records etc, so that they can evaluate your claim.

Please don't get into a hurry, it's been this long already...what's a few more months....seriously!
