Hi friends, a few months back I was involved in a car accident. Do you guys have any idea as to what is the maximum time limit before which one has to file a claim? I am in a fix, please help.

Both stephenricherd and Heller are confused. They are discussing STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS for filing legal actions in civil court, and the discussion is about timely filing of claims with insurance companies.
Although the STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS is important, it has nothing to do with the filing of claims. Most state laws require claims to be submitted ASAP, and generally not later than one year from the date of loss.
Two very different discussions.
