If you want to keep your damaged car, your insurance company would try to set a fair market value on the salvage by getting bids from the salvaged buyer and deduct this amount from the settlement. After the settlement, you can get it repaired and apply for a new title if your state laws say so.

I was just looking for this info for some time. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your site. I wonder what's the Google's issue that doesn't rank this kind of informative websites closer to the top. Usually the top websites are full of garbage.

Hiya, I'm really glad I have found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossip and net stuff and this is really frustrating. A good site with exciting content, this is what I need. Thanks for making this web-site, and I'll be visiting again. Do you do newsletters? I Cant find it.

For future googlers who come across this. I have dealt with geico after being in an accident with one their customers. It was a 1987 VW Van... they wanted to do a total loss on it for the same amount, $900. I spoke with the adjuster, explaining that the van had been extensively modified to the tune of being valued at over $20,000. He invited me down to show him what made the van so valuable.

After arriving, he tried convincing me there was no way the van was worth as much as I said, and offered me 1500. I told him absolutely not, and asked me again to prove the vans value. I brought a huge stack of receipts, and then walked him around the van pointing out each one of the modifications... after all of this, he agreed that the van was obviously worth more than he thought, and paid for the $3700 in repairs, as well as providing me with a rental car.

My car ran into railings in parking lot while entering the garage because instead of break i pressed gas. Left side of my car was damaged noone/no car was hurt. I have GEICO Insurance policy. So now how much they are going to increase the amount?

Ask GEICO. No one here can tell you the answer.

And next time apply the brakes so you don't break your car.
