Retraining after auto accident?

If you are in an auto accident that wasn't your fault is it possible for the other company to pay for any type of retraining? I have been diagnosed with RSD following a car accident. I worked for a greenhouse that requires a lot of heavy lifting and physical tasks involving using my injured hand (it was my dominant one.) so if I would have to take a lower paying job at this same place or the job is too difficult where does that leave me?

This sure gives my mood a boost! I am definately going to give it a try. I really like my job and hope it truly does work out. I see some problems arising though. One of their highest paying jobs in the company is planting which requires you to be fast and it always reqires alot of use of my right arm. How many trays you plant an hour is how your income is figured. Before I left I was m,aking upwards of $25 an hour. Just doing the normal tasks around here puts my arm up on the pain level scale. I just want to try and see if maybe I can do well with my left, even if I get near that level of pay. I've been practicing using it all winter doing different tasks. If my doc referred my case over to a pain clinic , who do I document it with...my family doc who referred the case or the doc at the pain clinic?

I would think whomever is your supervising doc...probably your primary care doc, and then of course let the adjuster know, as things/treatment changes...wow 25 bucks an hour to plant? that's terrific! hope you can train that left arm to be as fast as your right one! :D

Yes I know that pay is really awesome. That is why I am sooo concerned about my job. This was something that paid well plus I enjoyed so much. I was actually helping to manage the greenhouse as well but since I was off so long they trained someone to take my place. Not sure if getting that position back is possible but my co workers and boss are really good people so I figure I will tackle the issue when I go back and see what I could do. Thanks for your help on this one.
