Good morning SOLUTSHUNZ, you should always ensure that your fun is not causing problems to others. Therefore, you should carry enough insurance to cover the damages caused by you to others. However, unlike auto, boat insurance is not mandatory by the state law. You are free not to carry any insurance on your boat.

Yea right buddy, it's your call to carry or not to carry insurance on your boat. But remember, boat is a big responsibility. If your boat crash into the jetty and cause injuries to people then you may require to pay huge amount of compensation towards the damages. But liability coverage on your boat can save you from being sued in such cases. You can maintain at least the minimum liability coverage of 20/40/15 on your boat in Maryland.
Apart form the liability coverage; you may also consider buying the other available coverages to protect yourself from all probable losses on you boat.

Uninsured Boater Coverage

Yea right buddy, it's your call to carry or not to carry insurance on your boat. You are free not to carry any insurance on your boat.

This is more than likely not correct if you have a lein/loan on your boat/motor etc. The leinholder (in all states I am aware) will require that you protect the property as well as any liablity hazard.... :lol:
