Long story short, I got a DUI 7/29/06. I hit a fence. Total cost of the fence is apparently $6,000! OUCH! I'm wondering if there is a time frame to file a claim, and also if they cover DUI accidents. I'd hope insurance could cover this but I am not so sure they will. Thanks.

I submitted a question online to them as a feeler and this is the response I got:
"You should report any accident as soon as possible. There would be little chance of any insurance company processing a claim that is two years old."
Yes, it should have been reported. I can't find anywhere in my policy anything about not paying a claim that is two years old.
Now technically its only 19 months old if you count the months, so its not been quite 2 years.

One more question, if there is nothing in the papers I have from them, can they legally deny my claim because its been so long? If so, what recourse do I have if any?

Hey, technically you are required to turn-in the claim within the state specified 'statutory limit' and that you need to find out from the state dept. of insurance, but the sooner the better. :)

Thanks for that. I have just contacted them via email to find the limit. I hope it's 2 years :)
