Of course going for insurance agent is better than online site. Insurance will help to prepare necessary documents for your case, and they may even help you to fill up all the forum, what you need to do is just understanding the term there, and make a signature.

Online sites won't explains the details to you, where you have find out everything by your own.

Lucy, you can do it either way. Many insurers are now offering discounts and rate cuts to their customers applying through the site. But, with the online insurances the chances of being scammed are also very high. So, be careful when applying for policies online. Always go for trusted sites.

Online sites would offer you the benefit of comparing rates of different companies at one time. So, you don't need to visit the different offices of the agents to buy a policy.

However, often you may experience that the rates offered by the site may slightly vary when you would actually get the policy. That is because there are several other factors that the underwriter would consider when writing the policy, which the automatic system of the site fail to recognise. Therefore, you may end up paying more than the rate offered by the site on the same coverage.

I would talk to an Insurance Agent face to face. THAT way if you have any specific questions ( that can't be answered 'on-line') you can get answers to (hopefully). Just becareful.........make sure the Insurance Agent isn't 'beating around the bush' ( or something similiar) with your answers. Be specific about what kind of coverage you want, etc.

Thanks for the reply, I'm now aware that we might get a better rate for applying online but the best deal would be applying from an insurance agent.
I think I want to apply through my insurance agent, it's more safer this way.

Also..I think it's safer talking personally to the Insurance Agent because you wouldn't be giving your personal information VIA the Internet.

As i am studying to be a insurance agents (part time), i would definitely suggest you to buy insurance through insurance agents face by face rather than website. Although website have discount rate, cheaper comparison among plan, but then no one is there to answer your doubts and you may buy a policy that is not suitable for your current situation. So, i think it is better to buy through insurance agent.

What I like about automobile insurance online is with my insurer I can go to their website anytime and make changes anytime. This helps a person that is working from before their insurance agent opens to after they close to get things done without taking time off from work or whatever.
